MARJORAM IS USED IN AROMATHERAPY



MARJORAM IS USED IN AROMATHERAPY:

  • It is the one of the popular herbs used in kitchen to antidote medicinal effects / reactions and used herbal medicines and perfumes by the Greeks. It was also employed as a purifying device. It is a famous evergreen plant. Its freshly obtained leaves flowering tops are dried up to extract essential     by steam distillation method.
Aromatherapy:

  • It is used for masculine fragrances may be due its warm and a bit spicy aroma.
  • It can be blend with rosemary, lavender, and bergamot for massage, inhalation and bathing.
  • The oil is used in bath as it imparts relaxing and warm feelings. It can be applied / smothered over the temples and sinuses to relieve colds and aches.
Note: due to its narcotic effect it should not be used in high doses, in early stage of pregnancy and for sex, as it is said to curb the sexual drive.
