LEMON GRASS IS USED IN AROMATHERAPY:


  • Sweet scented grass of lemon was used for seasoning food in ‘India’, Indonesia. Srilanka   and Seychelles. Its strong constituent was thought to be a cleansing, anti-septic and deodorant and was used to deodorize footwear and cloths, and its dried leaves were burnt to keep the mind alert.


  • It is grass like topical plant and has tall stems. Its oil has a lemon like smell, and its partly fresh / dried leaves are steam- distilled to extract oil. It is used in low –priced perfumes, soap and cleansing agents.


Aromatherapy:

It is effective in headaches. Due to its anti- bacterial properties it is used in respiratory problems, sore –throats and skin infections. It is an ideal deodorizing and cooling agent. It is used for massage and inhalation purposes also. Its Refreshing fragrance brings energy and freshness; hence it is good for active work-outs. Whether it is inhaled or massages it has a salutary effect on digestive system and in toning up the heart.
