LAVENDER
IS
USED IN AROMATHERAPY :
- Lavender is a native to Rome and the Roman word ‘Lavare’ means ‘to wash’ the Romans used this aroma in daily bathing rituals. They used to burn lavender tugs to ward of plague and purify rooms.
- Lavender plant is the shrub and its branches are woody, leaves are long and narrow and have purple –blow flowers, on its long spikes. Its oil is extracted by steam distilling the plant, after drying it. Its oil has strong aroma, and its appearance varies from clear to pale yellow.
Aromatherapy:
It is used for multiple purposes like massage,
spraying rooms, baths and inhalations. For migraines and headaches drop a few
drops in boiling water or use a cold compress and inhale when there is nervous exhaustion,
wrap a warm towel to soothe tense and agitated nerves.
It bath is
taken late at night, (before sleep), it will help to induce calm and
comfortable sleep.
