GERANIUM IS USED IN AROMATHERAPY:
Geranium is a native of Africa but was brought to
Europe first before end of 17th century. Its plants have number of
species, having beautiful flowers, and it rise about 2 feet in height. When its
leaves are punched, there exudes a lemony smell. Its essential oil is sweet
yellow –green. It is distilled from flowers, leaves and stalks of these plants.
Ancient people utilized it for wounds, burns and tumors.
Aromatherapy:
- Being uplifting and sedative, it is used to treat depression and nervous tension. Also used for improving blood circulation and treating various skin problems, particularly wounds.
- Its essence is used for oil massage and is inhaled due to its refreshing and relaxing properties. Due to its fresh, sweet and floral essence, it is used in perfumes. It is non irritating essential oil and does not seem to carry any medical impact or reaction.
