CARRIER OILS USED IN AROMATHERAPY FACIALS:

CARRIER/BASE OILS:

 Essential oils must never be used in pure form due to their strong reactions on the body, or due to severe reactions even. Carrier oil is also known as Base oil which is generally extracted from seeds/ nuts, each type of oil having a specific quality.

 Following guidelines may be borne in mind while deciding about choice of the most suitable carrier oil.

  • Almond oil -   is the most suitable one due to its non-allergic and neutral qualities.
  • Mustard and jessamine oil- is used for inflammation disorders, like arthritis.
  • Peach kernel oil- is used for cell –regeneration, rich in vitamin A and used for nourishing.
  • Apricot kernel oil-is rich in vitamin A; good for wrinkles as well as stretch marks on   the body
  • Wheat germ oil- is rich in vitamin E and phosphorus; heals, soothes and helps to smooth out wrinkles and lines on the face.
  • Walnut oil- balances the nervous system and acts as a co- coordinator.
  • Coconut oil -   acts as a cleanser and good for oily skin.
